Sunny Spring 2015

IMG_7559With bright pops of color being spotted all over the catwalk, it’s no surprise that yellow made its appearance. From pastel yellows, spicy mustards, and vivid marigolds, anyone can wear this trending color. No matter what color skin tone and undertone you have, it’s given that there is a shade of yellow in the spectrum that will suit you.

Paired with the traditional black or white, yellow will give a nice, refreshing look. It’s perfect for spring and will definitely complement florals. If you are looking for a bold look, pairing it with a striking cobalt blue will be sure to turn heads. Bright colors can make a person feel more confident, chic, and ready to take on everything that comes their way with style.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
I have this in the shade Light 01, Finland. Let me tell you, my oily skin can even feel kind of parched mid winter, and this tinted moisturizer works wonders! The coverage is sheer to light, but can definitely be layered for more coverage. It has a light and fresh scent. Best of all, this tinted moisturizer does not oxidize and can last long under a powder.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This drugstore concealer is SO worth the hype! What is better than a concealer that is a little under $5, offers natural looking coverage, and blends like a dream? I have it in the shade Sand, and it has the perfect yellow undertone to match my skin. It covers imperfections and dark shadows perfectly without setting into pore and fine lines.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Pressed Powder
If I were to choose a pressed powder that would minimize the look of some pores, control shines, and even out my complexion, it would have to be the Bobbi Brown one. In Pale Yellow, my face looks more even and brighter, setting my foundation and concealer in place. The packaging is also very sleek and sturdy, with a great sized mirror – perfect for on the go and touch ups.

MAKE UP FOR EVER HD High Definition Powder
The industry’s best HD powder, hands down. No dupes can even cimpare to the original. I do not use this for photos, but on days where I want my makeup to look flawless, shine free, and poreless, this is my go-to setting powder. A little goes a long way, whether applied with a brush or sponge.

Skindinavia Oil Control Makeup Primer & Setting Spray
These are faily new items that I have been trying out, and I must say, they work great! Because of my extremely oily skin, I opted for the Oil Control versions. I’d like to use the primer spray under another lightweight primer, and the setting spray to set liquid and creams. I then top it off with a powder to seal the deal. I find that in that way, my makeup lasts longer and does nit smudge or transfer from my face.
